Episode 11

Jamille

I woke up with a good feeling today. I thought it was because I would be leaving with aunt tomorrow. I had my bath and dressed up. Aunt had told me she would prepare breakfast. I didn't bother going downstairs because I was feeling really lazy.
Jason barged into my room without knocking. "Are your knuckles hurt?" I asked him.
He stared at me,confused before replying "No,why'd you ask?"
"Last I checked, it's still polite to knock before entering someone's room."
He scoffed and threw the shopping bag he was holding on my laps.
"We're leaving this house by one o'clock. Wear everything in the bag. You know I hate late comers." He gave me a pat on the shoulder and walked out.
I didn't know what to make of his expression. He seemed angry and at the same time calm. Jake never pats me unless we're at peace. I decided to forget about that.
I opened the shopping bag to find a blue and pink peplum dress. From the waist upwards, was baby pink . The other part was royal blue. I tried it on and it fit perfectly, stopping directly at my knee.
I was shocked because Jason never got my clothes size right no matter how hard he tried.
I removed the dress and checked what was left in the bag. There was a flat pink strapped pair of sandals, a silver wrist watch and a silver necklace. I smiled happily. The fear of what he wanted to do with me had vanished completely.
I went downstairs to see the dining all set. Everybody was down already. I apologised for coming late and joined them.
After the meal, I followed Jason up the stairs to his room. "Thank you Jay"
He turned back and nodded, his face expressionless.
I became confused. Why was he acting all strange again?
I walked back to my room with slumped shoulders. I lay down to sleep again.
By the time I woke up ,it was 12:50pm. I flew out of my bed and began dressing up. It was the fastest dress up I ever had. My brother hated lateness and he would have my head for dinner if I dared him.
I put on everything he gave me. My hair wasn't made so I wore a 10-inches long black wig. I applied lip gloss on my lips. Mum never raised me with make-up so I never cared.
By the time I was done,it was 1pm on the dot. I rushed downstairs as fast as I could. I met him standing by the door clad in a black trouser and a blue long sleeved shirt folded to the elbow. He must have had a haircut that morning. He looked really smashing.
"You done staring miss?"
I shook myself out of my thoughts and nodded.
"Let's go then."

****************

Jamille
The driver was already outside waiting. We entered the car and left the compound. The drive out of the estate we live in always seemed long to me.
I was getting tensed inside the car.
"Could you please turn up the radio sir?"
"Alright miss"
He turned it up and cool music flooded the car. That seemed to help calm my nerves.
"I believe you remember where I told you to take us to." Jason spoke for the first time since we entered the car.
"Yes sir"
"Carry on then."
I had never been a fan of going out. My life revolved around home, school, church and the market.
"What's going on in your mind sis?"
"Well,nothing really."
"In that case,it's the perfect time ."
"Perfect time for what Jay?"
"I just wanna apologise for being a jerk. I wanna apologise on behalf of dad too. I know the kind of pain you feel 'cause I feel it too. I don't want you to leave the house mad at me dear. Forgive the only brother you've got."
"I'm not angry at you bro. I'm the one who isn't able to manage grief well. Forgive me too. You know I love you, right?"
"Oh sure Mille, thank you. You're an angel"
"Is it today you knew that one?"
"You should be thanking me for lying to you about that sef. I needed to boost your ego." I made a face and punched him on the shoulder.
"Ouch,that hurt"
"Good. That means the punch lived a fulfilled life after all."
I stopped talking when I noticed the car had been pulled to a halt.
We were in the parking lot of Ibom Tropicana.
"Is this for real Jay?"
He didn't answer me but pinched me instead.
"What was that for you slowpoke?"
"I'm sorry sis, I was only trying to prove that it's for real."
I laughed and alighted the vehicle.
Before we left,he turned to the driver.
"Oga you can go flexing for now. When we're ready,we'll call you. And don't worry,it's our little secret."
"Thank you sir,you're so kind."
"Ah it's nothing and please I'd prefer Jake."
He held my hand as we walked through the doors. We bought our movie tickets and went to see a two-hour movie.
After the movie,we decided to play some games. While we were at it, Jake called the driver to start coming back. We had so much fun.
The driver arrived. Jason instructed him to take us to Cherries in Nsikak Eduok Avenue. He obeyed.
"Mille,we're only going to eat light here. I don't want you to be too full. I have something else in store for you."
I was beside myself with joy. We went in and ordered for snacks. After eating,we sat chatting and laughing. I suddenly realised I missed Jason so much all this while. We took so many selfies till I was afraid the camera would shut down. When it was few minutes past 6pm, Jason suggested we start heading home.
We talked about everything and nothing during the drive back to the estate. Luckily,we arrived home before 7pm. I didn't know what would have happened to us if we delayed further.
When we arrived home, I was so exhausted. I walked slowly to the door and opened it.
The sight that met my eyes left me in tears.
I almost fell down if not for the timely intervention of Jason. The living room was decorated with lights and flowers. Dad and aunt were dressed like Jason and I respectively. I ran to them and hugged them both. Tears were streaming down my face.
"Don't cry baby please" That was aunt's unmistakable voice.
Daddy hugged me again. "I'm really sorry baby for everything."
"It's fine dad, I'm sorry too."
"Enough of the tears and drama, I'm hungry" Jason said.
"I don't know why my beloved nephew must be so annoying all the time."
He laughed and moved over to her side.
"I know that's why you love me. On a serious note, I'm dying of hunger."
"As your punishment for ruining the wonderful reunion I was watching, you'll serve everyone and take your food last."
Jason groaned and we all laughed.

 Episode 10

JASON

Aunt Liz came into the living room while I was watching a movie. She sat beside me and placed my head on her shoulder. “Jason turn off the television. I need to speak with you for a few minutes.” I promptly obeyed her order. I sat back to listen to her. She told me that she would be leaving on Friday with Jamille.
My head began spinning. “What?!” I exclaimed. She began explaining why she had to take her with her. “Sweetheart, you need to understand with me. Your sister is emotionally unstable at this moment. She needs someone to give her constant care. We both know your father would never do that for her.”
I sighed. “ Then what about me aunt? “ She took my hands in hers, looking into my eyes. “ I know you’ll do just fine. I’m leaving you here because I trust you too well. You’re becoming the man I’ve always hoped you would be. Besides , I don’t want your father to be alone. You can always come around anytime you please. You’re aunt’s big baby right?”
I nodded my head. The urge to shed tears came but I pushed it back. I was determined not to embarrass myself before someone who loved and trusted me. The trust my father never gave me.
“ Aunt,I won’t ask you to promise to take good care of her because I know you will do just that for me.”
“Of course Jay, I will.”
I hung my head in deep thought for few minutes. Then, my head shot up in excitement as an idea popped into my brain.
“ Aunt, I need a tiny favour from you.”
“ OK, what would that be? “ she asked. A large smile spread across my face.
“ Do you really promise to do it for me? “
She looked at me again, doubt written all over her face.
“ Jason,what’s this about? “
“ Just promise first. I thought you just told me some minutes ago that you trust me.” I made my best puppy face for her.
“ Alright, I promise.”
As I was about to ask her for my special favour, Jamille came into the living room.
“ I guess I’ll save it for later then. Meet me in my room, 7pm on the dot.” I said to aunt and winked.
She threw a throw pillow at me and I fled leaving her and Jamille alone in the living room.

************
AUNT LIZ

I watched Jason race up the stairs. He seemed happy and it gladdened my heart. I turned to Jamille who had taken a seat on my laps.
"You want to break my legs for my husband abi?"
She laughed and came down. "Uncle told me to take his place till he returns from Canada."
"I see, so it's today you remembered. Funny child. So how is my baby doing?"
"I'm OK, at least I'm alive."
"Well, that's good news if you ask me."
She walked to the television and turned it on. She sat down and began flipping through channels till she reached a particular channel.
I didn't bother looking at the name as I wasn't interested at that particular moment.
After watching for a while, she spoke up.
"Am I really going to live with you aunt?"
I was so shocked, I almost fainted in my seat.
"Jamille, where the hell did you hear that from?"
"I followed you outside when you went to see daddy."
"Hmm, it's true. It's not right to be snooping around. You'll get yourself into trouble. I do not approve of it Jamille so quit it from this moment."
"I promise aunt" she had remorse written all over her.
"Good, now come sit on my laps. Listen to me, you don't have to feel so insecure here. Nobody's gonna hurt you anymore. OK?"
She nodded.
"You should start getting ready. We leave on Friday morning. You're making dinner tonight. I leave the choice of food in your hands."
"Yes ma'am"
"Oh look,it's 7pm already. I have an appointment with Mr. Jason Brian."
I climbed the stairs to his room. He apparently heard my footsteps and opened the door.
"You're one minute late ma'am."
"If I slap you eh,you'll shift from my path"
He laughed and let me in. I sat on his bed.
"Now,let's strategize aunt"
We had our meeting for about an hour and a half. We were interrupted by Jamille's knock on the door. She came in and told us to come down for dinner.
We left the room together. When we got downstairs,I pulled her aside.
"Any more eavesdropping?" I asked her to her hearing only.
She shook her head and I smiled.
We began eating our meal. I was surprised Jamille had improved so much in her cooking.
Brian beat me to it. "Mille, this is better than delicious."
"Thank you" she replied slightly blushing.
The days flew by so quickly and soon it was Thursday. The day Jason and I would carry out our plan.

Episode 9

Aunty Liz

It's Sunday. Last night was hell for me. I didn't close my eyes in sleep for even a second. I tossed and turned all night thinking about Jamille. She reminds me of myself when I was younger. I was shocked at how much my niece and I could be so alike.
When she came in through the door last night, I saw a new person. Her eyes had gotten a little sparkle but a close look at her would show that the sorrow wasn't gone yet. I knew exactly what she was doing because I had done it many times too. She was presenting a strong person to the world whereas she was aching on the inside.
I wondered how I would get her to stop it. She would only end up widening the wound she already had deep inside of her. I thought a change of environment would do her good. I would speak to her dad to let me take her with me to my house. She would go to university from there. I wouldn't dare keep her in this house with my brother. He'd make the girl commit suicide. I thought he had solved his temper issues already. Apparently, I was wrong.
I turned to the clock and it was already few minutes to seven o'clock. I got up from the bed to go make breakfast.
I got plantain out of the store and fried it. I made fish stew to go with it. When I was done, I headed to my brother's room first, before the rooms of the twins, inviting them for breakfast.
I decided to fast today just in case the heavens would pity me and tell me what to do. I went upstairs to have a shower and get ready for church. Brian and I still attended the same church we attended as little kids with our families. I met my husband there and I've been more loyal since then.
When I was done, I went downstairs to meet the family all prepared. We said a small prayer before heading out. Service went well although I was sure that none of us paid sincere attention to the sermon.
After the service, I went straight to the pastor to ask for prayers because I was at a loss of what to do with Brian and his children. Our Sunday went on smoothly but without the usual excitement that was characteristic of our family.
I spent two whole weeks with them before I decided to approach Brian about Jamille.
It was a sunny evening on Monday. I walked to the garden to see Brian. The place had become his new home.
"Brian?" I called
He looked up,surprised to see me there.
"I came to talk about Jamille"
He nodded, urging me to go on.
"I want to take her with me to my house. She needs real help. You've bruised her heart pretty bad."
He sighed before replying. "I know I've hurt her. I've been thinking of how to apologise to her. I guess taking her away is a good idea. I wouldn't want to be responsible for ruining my daughter's life. I still love her."
"I'm glad you're back to yourself now. I just hope Jason will agree to this. We'll be leaving by Friday." I stood up to leave.
I don't know why I suddenly sat down again.
"And how are you little brother?"
"I guess I'm getting by. Thanks for asking even when I've committed"
I smiled. "Of course you know I love you Brian. I'm sorry for being so distant."
"Love you too sis." With that, I went inside.

Episode 8

Jamille

I didn't know when I slept off. I woke up to find myself on the bed. My knuckles were all cleaned up and the room was in order. I stood up to use the restroom. As soon I was done and about to wash my hands, I saw myself in the mirror and I almost ran away. I had bags around my eyes. The area around my eyes had turned dark. My collar bone had become more obvious. I was never a fat person but now, I looked more like a stick insect. I never thought one week would make such a big difference in my life.
I turned to look at the time. It was 6pm on the dot. The house seemed so quiet. I lay back on the bed to think about my life. I regretted being a fool. Talking that way to Jason made me feel sick. How could I be so insensitive? I was just too overwhelmed with sorrow to think straight. I made a mental note to apologise later on.
I went to Jason's room. I peeped in and he was sleeping. I decided to go outside for some fresh air. I descended the stairs gently because my whole body ached. I stopped at the kitchen to get some water in a glass cup. On getting outside, I felt a strong urge to visit mum's garden. As I got closer, I heard a voice and I became scared. I went a little further and listened. It was daddy's deep voice I was hearing loud and clear. I listened well and discovered he was speaking to my mum. I never knew daddy believed in talking to the dead.
I wanted to turn back and leave but a tiny voice in my head urged me to listen on. I yielded to the temptation without much argument.
"I really don't know what to do with Jamille anymore. I mean she's the only one who has caused us much problems from childhood. As much as I don't want to blame her, I can't help it. I just keep connecting the dots. She had difficulties walking as a child. She also suffered from dyslexia. And for heaven's sake, she's the only one who is so secretive in this house. She'll never voice out her problems to anyone. She...."
Before he could say another sentence, the glass in my hand fell to the ground and got shattered. Dad turned abruptly. "Jamille?"
I retreated slowly before I broke into a run. I opened the gate and off I fled with no destination in mind.
I ran straight ahead till my legs hurt. It had already become dark. I just sat on the pavement directly under one of the street lights that lined the sidewalk.
After sitting for few minutes, I got next to myself. The mosquitoes began defining life on the streets to me . I realised that this wasn't an American movie where kids run away and find help in a caring stranger. I got up and started the slow walk back home.
Shop owners stared at me like I was a ghost. I couldn't blame them. I would have done same if I saw someone running like a mad dog few minutes earlier and later saw the same person walking gently and looking sober.
The walk back home was longer than I imagined. I finally got home. I pushed the gate open and let myself in. Edet came out to see who was at the gate. He opened his mouth to speak but I sent a dangerous glare his way and he closed it up.
I heard aunt's raised voice from outside. She was obviously scolding dad. I walked in and shut the door noisily to gain their attention.
"I'm home aunt,no need to fret" I hugged her before turning to my dad.
"Hello dad" I smiled despite the pain in my heart. He was shocked to see me act so cool.
"Has anyone had dinner yet?" Dad's brows creased into a frown as he sat slowly on the nearest sofa.
"Well, I'll be in my room. No visitors please." I ran up the stairs to my room. I could feel their eyes bore into my back but I didn't care.
When I got to my room, I knelt down to pray for the first time since I lost my mother.
"Dear God, I'm sorry for all I've ever done wrong. Please forgive me and don't judge me like daddy did. Help him to forgive me and Jason too. You know I'm only acting strong. I'm worse than shattered on the inside. Help me scale through this, I beg of you in Jesus name. Amen."
I climbed onto the bed and laid down to sleep. "I can do it" I whispered into the darkness as I succumbed to the incredible power of sleep

Episode 7

Jason

I raced to my room. I was so angry. I wondered what kind of sister I had. She's really getting on my nerves. How could she want me to be mad at her when a normal human would prefer the calm and gentle way. She has always been soft. I knew she was so fragile at heart but I didn't expect her to react like this.
I heard glass breaking in her room but I couldn't bring myself to go there. She's breaking me by acting this way but she's totally unaware. If only mum was here, all these wouldn't be happening. I heard a knock on the door and got up to open it. Aunt Liz was standing there. I made way for her to come inside the room.
"Jason,I came to talk to you." She began.
"What about aunt?"
"Your sister" she stated and waited to see my reaction. I did my best to maintain a straight face.
"I heard when you both were talking in her room."
"I presume you heard her crazy outburst. I mean, aunt, who the hell does that?"
She sighed and said "Talk to me dear, let everything out. I'm right here"
"Aunt, it's just frustrating. For goodness sake, I'm looking out for her. How could she say all that to me? I didn't blame her. I knew it wasn't her fault. Must she be so hard on herself?" I talked for minutes. Aunt Liz just sat silent, listening to my every word.
"I'm gonna ask you a favour dear" She finally spoke up.
"And what would that be aunt?"
"Just give her time. I guess that's her own of grieving her loss. Would you do that for me?" She asked me in the mildest tone I ever heard from her.
"But it hurts aunt"
" I know it does hon. Just give it a try, OK?"
"I'll try. I'm not promising anything just yet."
She smiled and replied, "Sounds like a promise to me. Now, I need to rush home and pick some clothes and foodstuff. Thankfully, Mr. Hubby isn't home so I'll just give him a call and let him know what's up. Am I permitted?"
"Uhm... Permission remains ungranted till I get a hug" I replied causing her to smile. She leaned close and hugged me.
"Permission granted ma'am" we both laughed and she left the room.
I kept staring at the door even after she had left. I smiled as I thought about Aunt Liz.
She's my best aunt in my dad's family. She's 49 but has the looks of a 30 year old. She's never ageing. The woman just knows how to light up the room in all situations. I specific ally admire the air of authority she carries with her. Fair and a bit plump. She does not lack in the height department too. Sometimes, I catch myself wishing she wasn't older so I'd marry her. A better than great cook she is.
She and her husband are a perfect match. They play like newlyweds each time they come visiting. The only thing lacking in her life is a child. They'd been married for many years with no child. She still believed she would have her own child. She had trained two orphan girls from childhood.
They're both in the university. The first, studying medicine and the second studying pharmacy. She treats them like her own. I just hope she has her wish granted.
I decided to go check on my sister. I found her on the floor. I lifted her onto the bed. I got the first aid box and cleaned up her wounded knuckles. I packed the broken pieces of glass on the floor and arranged the room as quietly as I could.
Having done all that, I went back to my room to have a well deserved nap.

Jamille

Aunt came back upstairs later on. She was carrying a plate of food. She dropped it on the stool by my bed and tapped me gently.
I tried opening my eyes but it hurt a lot to try. "Aunt,I'm awake" I answered her, giving up on opening my eyes.
"Milly baby,I brought food. Sit up,let aunt feed you."
I shook my head in the negative. "I don't think I can. I'll probably throw up."
"It doesn't hurt to try, does it? Besides,I'm always here to clean up if you eventually throw up."
I shook my head again. Aunt always had her way with words. She coaxed me till I sat up. She opened the plate to reveal pepper soup ready to be consumed. I stretched my hand to carry the spoon but she was faster. "Let me do it" she said with a small smile.
She lifted the spoon to my lips and I granted it entrance. She fed me till the soup remained only a little in the plate.
"I'm okay aunt. I can't take any more". She nodded.
"Later on,I'll bring something more solid for you to take. I'm happy you could at least take a little soup." She planted a kiss on my forehead before packing up the plates and heading towards the door.
"Watch it!" She exclaims as Jason opened the door swiftly just as she's about to turn the knob.
"Sorry aunt" he shifted from her path.
"Ah its no problem. I didn't want to be soaked in pepper soup. Trust me,the smell is only good for the stomach and not on a dress."
He smiled at her and she walked past him.
He took a seat on the bed beside me. We sat silent for five minutes.
"Aren't you going to talk to your bros?"
"I guess it should be you doing the talking first and not me" I replied.
"OK, so how're you?"
"To be honest, I don't even know"
"And why is that?" He pressed on.
I stared at him like he just grew three new horns.
"Is there poop on my head?" He asked and laughed a little.
"Jason, how could you laugh at a time like this?" I asked in bewilderment.
"Laughter's good for the soul, dear. I've been mourning for a week now. I'll die if I don't give myself a break."
"A break indeed. You wouldn't be saying that if you had a hand in your own mother's death" I spat out through clenched teeth.
"Stop saying that, you had no hand in it. There's nothing you could have done to stop her death." He sighed before continuing.
"I knew you'd take it hard on yourself. Don't mind dad's outburst. He's still grieving just as we are. I'm sure he didn't mean all that."
I stood up from the bed and started pacing.
"Jason, why? Why do you keep doing this to me,why?"
"I'm actually floating here Mille. What the heck are you talking about?"
"Daddy screamed his lungs out. Why don't you do same? You're killing me by acting all nice. Yell at me Jay,yell. I did something horrible. Yell so I can feel better. Scream Jay."
Jason just looked at me sparking like a live wire.
"I want to die,Jay. I just want to die. Why don't you just get mad at once so I'll have enough reason to die."
I was crying seriously. I lay down on the floor. I heard the door open and close. Jason had left the room. I hit my head on the ground repeatedly. It felt like it wasn't enough. I got up and went to the dresser. I threw everything on it down. I punched the mirror and it broke, wounding me. I didn't care about the pain.
It wasn't up to the pain in my heart. I got tired and sat on the floor. The tears had stopped flowing. I heard the door open. I didn't want to see anybody.
"Please leave. Whoever you are, I don't want to see your face."I breathed out without looking back.

{Must Read} Reasons Why You Should Consider Doing IJMB This Year

Good Morning To All Classicpluz Readers,I Am Writing This Post Regards All University Seekers .. Those Who Have Already Lost Hope About Going To The University And Those Who Are About To Lose Hope Due To Not Passing Their Jamb Exams After Several Trials ... Worry No More Because This Post Is For You.

Do Not Allow Your Jamb Score To Push You To A Polytechnic

You are free to verify the information you are about to read anytime.

Due to some degrading factors and low standard of Education displayed by many Polytechnics all over Nigeria, it has become a big threat to many that graduated from these institutions. This is why some students still take Jamb again after they must have wasted two years within the higher institution.

Reasons Why IJMB is good for you

Firstly What Is IJMB??

IJMB means INTERIM JOINT MATRICULATION BOARD Which  is an Advanced Level (A'level) 9-month programme being supervised, run and moderated  by Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and IJMB was setup to serve as an alternative method of gaining admission into a tertiary institution in Nigeria into 200 level via Direct Entry (D.E) form.
IJMB is a federal government programme approved programme, It is moderated by Ahmadu Bello University, ABU Zaria and it is also is certified by Nigerian University Commission (NUC)... It is designed to solve problems of admission for candidates seeking admission into Nigeria University instead of JAMB.

Just like the University of Lagos supervises
JUPEB programme, and university of Cambridge supervises Cambridge A Level in Nigeria , so also ABU, Zaria is to IJMB.

IJMB allows successful students to get admissions into 200 level of almost all Nigerian universities and candidates can actually study any course of their choice with this interesting programme including but not limited to Medicine, Law, Accounting, Business Administration, Mass comm. Linguistics ETC., IJMB is supposed to be 10 months program, but since students are not going to resume at the same time, hence we have students who only ended up spending between 7 months and 5 months throughout the IJMB programme.
Since time has nothing to do with your result but your seriousness, and IJMB is not for the brilliants students but for the determined heart who is ready to sacrifice time and energy with his/her books, it is going to be a success all the way. While we do not want to make a jest of the exam, we must say that the exam is not that difficult as being portrayed by many people, is just that the interested candidates need to sit tight to pass the IJMB exam. We must tell you this, we have seen a student who started in February while the exam was going to be May in 2009, and he got 14 points out of the 16 points obtainable in total, a science student for that matter.
Another important factor is the issue of the lecturers, anywhere we posts our students to, that means IJMBway Alevel Registration have tested their method of teaching and that have attained a very high degree in their method of teaching. We do make sure that IJMB centres use lecturers that are IJMB inclined, how do you know those lecturers? Well, that's why you have to let the right person lead you, because without the right lecturers for the right subject, definitely, IJMB students will have problem if not problems
IJMB allows you to choose three courses/subjects that are related to what you want to study at the university of your choice. The highest point for each course is five(5) points, which is denoted by A. That is, all the three courses will have fifteen (15) points in total, with an addition of one (1) if in the three courses/subjects you don't have F(fail) which stands for 0 points. Making a total of sixteen points (16) altogether.
A = 5 courses/subjects
B = 4 points
C = 3 points
D = 2 points
E = 1 points
F = 0 points
For you to be considered as being passed in IJMB exam you must score a minimum of 5 points in total i,e EDE stands for (1+2+1) which is five (5) points.
It is worthy to notes, that before JAMB/UTME comes to existence, IJMB was only the tool used to gain admission then, ask all these professors they will confirm it to you. The same problem facing other sectors in Nigeria have a huge effect on Nigeria education sector, hence, you find few people that only know little about IJMB these days.

REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD CONSIDER DOING IJMB
REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD CONSIDER DOING IJMB

1. The IJMB result does not expire, unlike your JAMB that is only for a year.
2. You can use it over and over again
3. You can still be doing it and apply for JAMB if you want to kill two birds with a stone
4. You will have higher PGD in your university as it is going to be divided by 3years, not four years not four years like others who used JAMB.
5. You have more advantages of being admitted unlike those used JAMB since IJMB students are very fewer in ratio.
6. I have come across with many educated parents that told me, if my children doesn't use IJMB result to gain admission into university, doesn't really bother me, all I want from them is to have the first-hand experience with A'level program before gaining admission fully to university - yes, this is what is seen in other advanced climes, you just have to go through a year with Advanced program before gaining admission fully to university of choice.

Why You Should Not Allow Your Jamb Score Push You To A Polytechnic

Many students out there are better off the score they had from the just concluded JAMB. Many results were as a result of technical issues while some were as a result of time. Many even failed due to the tension they went through before writing the very exam. Above all, your score should not limit you or make you act desperately. There are better programs you can apply for. More reason why A level programs are being announced often to you. To the less privileged, I have a good news for you. You can get a scholarship to study this program and gain admission into 200level after 9months. It is already less than 9months because it has started!  So if you join them now.  By February you will be through. Then the next admission you're going to 200L No Limit, No Boundary. Your time is now.

Episode 68

Maria frowned when upon opening the door,it was Alice standing there. She sighed and the door to let her in,without a greeting.
‘Maria darling,’ Alice called with a smiling face ‘how are you today?’
‘there’s no need asking, not as if that will stop you from going out with my dad’ Maria sighed ‘anyways, i hope you know that your boyfriend or fiance is not around?’
Alice smiled ‘yes i know. I came to keep you company, besides its you i want to see, not your dad’
Maria scoffed ‘make yourself comfortable’ then she stood up, picked the book she was reading and made to leave for her room.
Alice stood up and grabbed Maria’s left arm ‘Maria, please, don't go’
‘i do not want to be rude. I do not want to insult you, however, i wont hesitate to do so if you dont respect yourself and leave me a line. Whats your problem? Do i look like someone who is smiling with you?’ Maria said and pushed Alice’s hands away.
Then she left.
Alice shrugged and went after her ‘Maria, listen to me, i’m pregnant’

############

Maria dropped the novel on her bed and grabbed Alice’s shirt.
‘you lie because my dad can never impregnate you, never! Why are you so desperate? Why are you so determined to get him to marry you? Are you a witch?’
Alice was surprised at Maria’s outburst. She gently released her shirt from Maria’s hold.
‘why are you determined to tear us apart? Why cant you accept the fact that your dad and i are in love with each other and that we plan to marry? What is so wrong in that?’
‘what is so wrong in that? Dont you realise that my dad is a married man? How can you love a married man, how can you? Dont you have a conscience?’
Alice couldnt stop herself from laughing.
‘your dad is not married. He is single’
‘its a lie! He is married. To my mum’
‘and where is your mum now?’
‘dont you dare try to mock my mum’
‘you are getting it all wrong Maria’
‘oh yeah, i’m getting it all wrong abi? You are trying to take my mum’s place and guess what? I wont let you’ Maria hissed ‘and you better get rid of that thing you call a baby, because i will never accept it!’
‘never! And i dont need you to accept it, you know why? Because you aint the father!’ she said and left the room in anger.
****
‘so i’m gonna be having a younger sibling? That seems great!’
Then she caught herself. What was wrong with her? Was she actually happy or sad about the baby?
She wished she was sad because she wanted to be sad. She didnt want her dad to marry. It will only make him forget her mum and thats what she didnt want.
But she wanted a younger sibling, be it boy or girl. Spank him or her whenever he or she has done something wrong, tell then stories, help then with their assignments, pet them whenever they cry, buy then candies and chocolate, drop them off at school before going to hers…. God, the list of things she wanted to do with a younger sibling were too much.
Then she reasoned; if Alice or whatever her name was marries her dad, she would have two or more siblings. First, Felix, then the unborn baby and probably more. But if Alice married her dad, then her mum would be forgotten and she wasnt sure she could or would want to trade that for anything in the world.
A gentle knock on the door jerked her back to conciousness. Rhoda opened the door and peeped into the room;
‘madam Alice said i should call you down for dinner’ Rhoda said.
‘dinner? Is dad back?’
‘yes, since’
‘and he didnt bother to check on me right?’
‘erm, he has been talking with madam Alice since’
‘can you please stop calling her madam Alice? Who is she? Did she tell you that she is now the madam of the house? Please dont annoy me. Let this be the last time i would warn you about this’ Maria warned sternly.
‘yes Maria’ Rhoda said obediently.
Maria sighed ‘what are we having for dinner?’
‘bitterleaf soup and pounded yam’
‘who cooked it? You?’
‘no, its madam Al….i mean oga’s wife that cooked it’
‘are you mad? Where you the one that wedded the both of them? Look Rhoda, you better be careful with the things you say in this house if you dont want trouble’
Rhoda flinched. Imagine a small girl like Maria, just 17yrs asking her if she’s mad. Anyway, its condition that bent the crayfish.
‘sorry Maria’
‘who did you say cooked it again?’ Maria asked.
‘madam….sorry Alice’
Maria hissed ‘i’m not eating. Prepare something else for me to eat’
‘but Maria, oga said i should tell you to come down and eat’
‘get out now!!’
Rhoda nodded and left. Nawa for this oga pikin oo. Why she hate this nice woman na? See as she even take order me make i go prepare something for am? Wetin do her hand abi she no get hand? They don spoil that girl, 17yrs, she never sabi boil rice. Anyway your papa get money, idiot! Rhoda said as she headed downstairs.

Episode 67

Tony didn't know whether to scream or shout or slap the living hell out of Nneka. What she was saying wasn't making sense at all. How could a mother kill her own daughter simply because she refused to join kuvudu or whatever.
‘mama, you did all of that?’ he asked, knowing it was a stupid question.
‘my eyes oo. Somebody help!!’ Nneka screamed.
‘what happened to your eyes? You are a very wicked woman! A devil incarnate, a wolf in sheep clothing!!’ Tony shouted.
*****
Days after Nneka left the house blind and mad, things returned back to normal. Tony and Alice were still friends though, to the anger of Maria.
Gilbert was out of town for a business transaction. Stella sold her property and relocated to Ghana. Well, Jessica and Uche got married.
A month passed and Tony realised how much he loved Alice and they started dating and two months later, he proposed to her and she accepted.
That was when Gilbert returned to Lagos more than determined to get Alice and Maria was more than determined to set them apart.
*****
Alice was just coming out of the house when she saw the last person she expected to see, someone she hadnt seen in months.
She rubbed her eyes again to be sure ‘you?’
‘in body and in soul baby’ Gilbert said with an evil smirk.
‘what are….where the hell have you been since?’
‘i will take it that you missed me darling’
‘shut up!!’ Alice barked ‘get out of here now before i lose my temper even though i’m already losing it’
Gilbert laughed ‘you should know me well by now, i dont back down easily’
‘and thats what gonna land you in prison….like last time’ Alice said waving her hands.
Gilbert thought he saw a ring on her middle finger, so he went closer to take a better look.
‘you….you are engaged? Tony Brown? That b-----d’
‘first of all, let me correct your mistake, Tony is not a b-----d and as an answer to your question, yes, i’m engaged. To him’ Alice answered with pride.
Gilbert felt like dying now. Tony Brown was winning and he would never allow that.
When Alice saw he wasnt answering, she moved over to her black murano which Tony had gotten for her as a birthday gift last month.
‘is that your car? That fool bought it for you right?’ Gilbert asked stopping Alice who turned and smiled.
‘yes, he got it for me. Got a problem with that? (chuckles) I understand that you cant afford it. I mean you are driving a toyota camry yourself’
Those words pained Gilbert ‘wealth isnt everything’
‘love is everything’ Alice said, entered her car and zoomed off.
Gilbert brought out his phone and dialled Collin’s number.
‘get the boys ready. Tony Brown dies tonight. I cant take it any longer’ Gilbert said
